I’ve never been one for diaries, and this journal is no exception. I don’t post very much at the best of times and, recently, I’ve posted even less. This is because I suffered a stroke at the beginning of the year and am only now returning to some sort of normality. Full recovery still seems like a distant destination and I would describe my present condition as running at 91% capacity. I can still read, write, and think, but I can’t be held entirely responsible for what comes out.
I am working slowly (and very lightly) on a couple of projects, in the hope that they will see the light of day next year. My essay, ‘On Baillie Gifford, Fossil Free Books, and the Small Matter of Planet Earth’ will, however, be my last journal post. Anyone landing here should hereafter consider my 1320Journal officially retired. But feel free to look around and buy a book if you see anything you like.
